This program's solid grounding in the sciences, mathematics, and engineering, along with lab skills allow you to apply theory to practical areas of chemistry.
The grounding in scientific research methodology provided by the dissertation requirement is a central focus of the Ph.D. program. One of the primary means of education and training in the Ph.D. program is achieved through successful completion of an original research project in close mentorship by their research adviser and the presentation and defense of the Ph.D. dissertation.
By learning to analyze the air, water, soil, and other factors, you can protect people, animals, plants, and the environment. You might clean up a body of water, restore contaminated land, investigate the depletion of the ozone layer, or study flood control.
The Ph.D. in Environmental Science is an advanced interdisciplinary research-oriented program intended for students interested in developing a scientific understanding of the environment as well as its management. The research component is highly focused on the specific environment-related problem(s).
