Permits will be given on a case-by-case basis, and should only be requested if an error is received when trying to register.
CES permits only apply to courses beginning with: CHEM, EVSC, FRSC, or EPS.
We do not issue closed course permits. You can add yourself to the waitlist in the event a seat opens up, or register for another section if one is available. Waitlists are auto-purged about one week before the first day of classes.
Advisor Permits
Courses that have unique section numbers for each instructor are called Advisor Courses (CHEM 391, 491, 492, 590, 591, 700B, 701B, 701C, 725, 726, 790A, 792B; EVSC 591, 592, 700B, 701B, 701C, 725, 726, 790A, 792B; FRSC 490, 491; EPS 700B, 701B, 701C, 725, 726).
You will need an Advisor Permit to register for any sections. You must obtain written permission from the instructor of the section you wish to take, and forward the instructor's approval to chempermits@njit.edu prior to filling out the Permit Request Form.
Advisor Permits will not be issued without the instructor's written approval.
